RRB Station Master Recruitment 2026: Graduates Can Apply for ₹35,400 Level-6 Posts Till 25 November
A graduate degree, a Level-6 pay scale and the job of managing train movement at a station: that is what RRB Station Master Recruitment 2026 puts on the table. Under CEN No. 08/2026, the detailed notification lists online applications from 27 October to 25 November 2026 (23:59 hrs), with an initial pay of ₹35,400.
Any graduate aged 20-33 (as on 1 January 2027) can apply, but only to one RRB, and that choice is final. Before you pick your board, note one catch: the notice quotes three different vacancy totals, so check the final figure on the official website first.
Application window: 27 October to 25 November 2026, 23:59 hrs.
Post: Station Master, Pay Level 6, initial pay ₹35,400.
Eligibility: Graduate degree; age 20–33 as on 1 January 2027.
Vacancies: 1,215 on the summary page, 1,265 in Annexure B, and about 1,250 in media reports of the indicative notice. These are unreconciled.
Stages: CBT, CBAT, document verification and medical examination.
Rule to remember: Apply to only one RRB. Multiple applications lead to rejection.

Vacancy Details
The notification is internally inconsistent. Its summary page shows 1,215 vacancies, while the RRB-wise Annexure B totals 1,265. Media reports of the indicative notice mention about 1,250. We found no official explanation for the gap, so treat all three figures as unconfirmed until RRB clarifies.
Annexure B splits 1,265 as UR 542, OBC 296, SC 176, EWS 147 and ST 104. The 133 ex-servicemen posts are included in these totals. The biggest allocations are Mumbai (CR) 125, Jammu-Srinagar (NR) 122, Chennai (SR) 119, Thiruvananthapuram (SR) 114 and Prayagraj (NCR) 104.
Vacancies are provisional. Since your RRB choice is final, study the zone-wise table before applying.
Eligibility Criteria
Education: A graduate degree from a recognised university or equivalent, held by 25 November 2026. Candidates awaiting final results cannot apply.
Age: 20–33 years as on 1 January 2027. For UR and EWS, the date of birth must fall between 2 January 1994 and 1 January 2007. The earliest permitted date is 2 January 1991 for OBC-NCL and 2 January 1989 for SC/ST. Ex-servicemen, serving railway staff and eligible women applicants get further relaxation, but relaxations are not cumulative.
Medical: Standard A-2, with distant vision 6/9 without glasses, plus colour, binocular and night vision tests. Candidates who have had LASIK or any refractive surgery are not eligible, and the post is marked unsuitable for PwBD candidates.
Nationality: Indian citizens, plus Nepal/Bhutan subjects and eligible Indian-origin migrants holding a certificate of eligibility.
Application Fee
Most candidates pay ₹500, of which ₹400 is refunded after bank charges on appearing in the CBT. Women, transgender, ex-servicemen, SC, ST, minority and EBC candidates pay ₹250, refundable after bank charges on appearing.
Payment is online only (net banking, cards or UPI). Refunds go to an Aadhaar-seeded bank account, and each correction later costs ₹250.
How to Apply Online
Open the unified RRB website and follow the application link.
Create an account, or log in if you registered for an earlier CEN. Mobile number and email cannot be changed later.
Authenticate through DigiLocker or Aadhaar.
Choose one RRB and your zone preferences.
Enter your name, parents’ names and date of birth exactly as on your Class 10 certificate.
Capture a live photo on a plain white background and upload a signature in running handwriting (JPG, 30–49 KB).
Pay the fee by 27 November and save your registration number.
Selection Process
The CBT has 100 questions in 120 minutes, with one-third negative marking. Candidates equal to eight times an RRB’s vacancies move to the CBAT, where a T-score of at least 42 in every test battery is mandatory. There is no negative marking in CBAT, and an original eye-specialist vision certificate is required that day.
Final merit gives 70% weight to CBT and 30% to CBAT. Candidates equal to the vacancies are then called for document verification and medical examination.
Salary and Pay Level
Selected candidates under RRB Station Master Recruitment 2026 join at Pay Level 6 of the 7th CPC with an initial pay of ₹35,400, as stated in the notification.
